2 Advanced phrases to sound educated and sophisticated (Formal/Romantic Persian)

Hello clubs mates!

In this lesson I'd like to introduce a few phrases that will make you sound like a native speaker!

You may use them for very formal meetings and or even romantic situations.

How to say it's my pleasure in Persian[edit | edit source]

First off, we start from the way you may say "my pleasure" when you've done something for somebody and they said thank you in Persian.

Persian speakers mostly say:

  • "خواهش میکنم"

my pleasure

as an answer for:

  • "ممنون"

thank you

but these days it's been used a lot.

So it would be better to use the phrase:

  • "باعث افتخار من هست"

instead of saying:

  • "خواهش میکنم"

Now let's think about a condition of inspiring someone; maybe your parents or spouse or friend that you care about.

They thank you for things you've done for them and in return you can say:

  • "باعث افتخار من هست"

It sounds like an intelligent and sophisticated person talking and you'd like to keep up the conversation.

How to apologize someone in a formal/romantic way[edit | edit source]

The second phrase that I'd like to talk about is the situation that you want to apologize for something wrong you've done.

It's common to say:

  • "معذرت میخواهم"

but to sound more educated, try to say:

  • "مایلم بابت ....از شما عذر خواهی کنم"

You should have something to apologize for, and you should fill in the gap between the words"بابت" and "از" with a verb itself or with a verb+object.

For example, you've broken something fragile and valuable belonging to a frugal person that you care about; maybe your former boss or your love!

You can say:

  • "مایلم بابت شکستن آن از شما عذر خواهی کنم"

Again, to remind you that this phrase is so formal, but you can use it for someone that you're engaged in as a romantic relationship and have intimate connection.
