The future tense in Burmese is formed by adding the particle ''kya'' to the verb stem. For example, the verb ''kya'' (to go) becomes ''kya kya'' in the future tense.

==Using the Future Tense in Conversations==
In addition to "မဟုတ်ဘူး" (ma-hote-bhu), we can also use other particles to express the future tense with different nuances:
The future tense is used to talk about plans and intentions. It can also be used to make predictions about the future.


For example:  
* "လာတယ်" (la-tai): to indicate an action in progress in the future. For example: "ချစ်သွားလာတယ်" (chit-swè-là-tai) - I will go and come back.
* ''ကျပ်ကျပ်ချင်းနော်မှာလာမယ်။'' (kya kya hkang naw maw lar mai?) - I will go there tomorrow.
* ''သူမျိုးကျပ်ချင်းနော်မှာလာမယ်။'' (thu moe kya hkang naw maw lar mai?) - They will go there tomorrow.
* ''မောင်းကျပ်ချင်းနော်မှာလာမယ်။'' (maung kya hkang naw maw lar mai?) - You will go there tomorrow.
