# New translation system: [COMPLETED]
**[DONE] Translate completed English pages automatically in all the languages available in Google Translate API : Example here (the page has been translated to a few languages as a test) https://polyglotclub.com/wiki/Language/French/Vocabulary/Les-4-saisons
# ImageAnnotator to be implemented.
**[TO DO] Encourage members to correct more the pages and translations: display in the home page : "help us correct these lessons translated in Chinese to learn French..." + list of lesson specific for the user. Example : if it's a page to learn French translated in Chinese. The user must be a native Chinese speaker and must be learning French, to encourage him to correct the lesson.
# Bugs of Visual Editor to be fixed.
**Each translated page will live its life independently: It does not matter if in the end they are totally different. Actually we should talk more of "Language Versions" rather than translations. Mediawiki has a special extension (for manual translating) which works the same way, each translated page is independant : https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Content_translation
**To tell which part must not be translated : it's a special HTML tag. Example <code><nowiki><span class="notranslate">Les quatres saisons</span></nowiki></code> to add in each English lesson.
**Each English page must be split in max 5000 characters parts (limits of Google translate) with the following tag : <code><nowiki><!--SPLIT--></nowiki></code>
**I will select myself the lessons completed enough AND needing a multilingual translation.
<span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> Yes, when it comes to lessons, things are complex. It should be mentioned in every lesson if it is incomplete. Is there any easier way to edit translations? Anyone can correct or complete the English page or the translated pages.
<span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> I see. This is huge. I need to pay more attention to completing lessons. "Language versions" is great, because the ways of teaching varies when the learners are various.

<span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> I think there can be a mistake log for Google, to help people understand how machine translation makes mistake. <span style="color:red">Vincent:</span> I guess people can see corrections in the page history. the Machine translation is made by the contributor named "Maintenance script" <span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> I think I can create a wiki page for Google's mistakes, and make people be familiar to this. <span style="color:red">Vincent:</span> Yes, and we could also give guidlines so that English lessons are easy to translate, like using SIMPLE ENGLISH. see https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:How_to_write_Simple_English_pages <span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> I saw that sample lesson. It is in Simple English, and I still found some inevitable translation mistakes, such as a wrong meaning of a polyseme. Maybe it's not because of the sentence structure or chooses of word. <span style="color:red">Vincent:</span> Yes those mistakes cannot be avoided, that's why it's very important to encourage members to correct. Right now, we cannot rely on machine translation only ... However, very fast I think we will be able to rely on it as the system is getting better and better. I've just created another example in more languages : https://polyglotclub.com/wiki/Language/Spanish/Grammar/Por-vs-Para
<span style="color:red">Grimpixel: Great! This system is really nice. I think maybe the titles can also be translated, then users know that the lesson has been translated into the languages they are learning and teaching.</span>

<span style="color:red">Grimpixel: I found that the word "English" in the lessons should also be changed to their respective language names.</span>

<span style="color:red">Grimpixel:</span> What if users can and want to translate into a language that Google doesn't support ? <span style="color:red">Vincent:</span> yes, I must think about it, it's not too hard to do.
