Here are the days of the week and months of the year in Gaelic.
WORD | FACAL | |
---|---|---|
Days | Làithean | |
Monday | Diluain | |
Tuesday | Dimàirt | |
Wednesday | Diciadain | |
Thursday | Diardaoin | |
Friday | Dihaoine | |
Saturday | Disathairne | |
Sunday | Didòmhnaich | |
Sunday (lit. Day of the Sabbath) | Là na Sàbaid | |
January | Am Faoilleach | |
February | An Gearran | |
March | Am Màrt | |
April | An Giblean | |
May | An Cèitean | |
June | An t-Ògmhios | |
July | An t-Iuchar | |
August | An Lùnastal | |
September | An t-Sultain | |
October | An Dàmhair | |
November | An t-Samhain | |
December | An Dùbhlachd |
To write the date in Gaelic, add the day and the month in the same order as you would with English. Don’t worry about writing 1st or 2nd – just write in the number. Here are some examples:
Monday 12 January 2017 | Diluain 12 Faoilleach 2017 | |
Wednesday 20 May 2017 | Diciadain 20 Cèitean 2017 |
