What is Gender?

Gender is a grammatical category that is used to classify nouns and pronouns in many languages, including Kashmiri. In Kashmiri, there are three genders: masculine, feminine, and neuter.

Identifying Gender

In Kashmiri, the gender of a noun can usually be identified by its ending. Masculine nouns usually end in -a or -e, while feminine nouns usually end in -i or -u. Neuter nouns usually end in -o or -a.
