The Bakhtiaris

A tribe from southwest Iran is known as the Bakhtiari. One of Iran's biggest and most famous tribes, the Bakhtiari have a Noble culture and speak the Bakhtiari dialect of the Luri language. Perhaps you are familiar with the names of Queen Soraya and Shahpour Bakhtiar, the final leader of the Pahlavi era.

Additionally, Bibi Maryam Bakhtiari is a well-known Bakhtiari woman. They are all members of the Bakhtiari tribe or their ancestors are.

Beyond the opulent magnificence that surrounds their well-known members, however, we find a tribe that is grounded in humility and has a strong bond with nature.

The Bakhtiari themselves may easily trace their ancestry back to Cyrus the Great. Others assert their ancestry as being that of the Iranian epic figure Fereydoon.

However, it is known that they have been living in Persia for a very long time and have played a significant role in its history.

The seasonal migration of the Bakhtiari people and the fact that their livestock is their main source of wealth form the foundation of much of their culture.

A portion of Bakhtiaries are pastoral nomads. For instance, they avoid eating much meat when migrating because it will make them feel heavy and slow them down. Instead, their primary sources of nutrition during this time are milk, yogurt, and dough.

The hair from the animals they care for is used in their handicrafts. The waterproof, black Siah Chador tents made by the Bakhtiari are known around the world. They are woven from goats' wool.

Bakhtiari Clothing

The males are dressed with a black wool hat without a rim, baggy pants, and a Chogha coat with black and white stripes. The women dress in long, flowing skirts and scarves that are frequently embellished with gold and silver coins, embroidery, and other trinkets.

The tribe moves from the cool pastures used in the summer to warmer regions for the winter and vice versa.

Yehlagh is the summer abode high up in the mountains and Garmsir is the winter home in the low hills of Khuzestan.

Bakhtiari and Iranian-Arab peoples were first defenders of Iran in Iran - Iraq war.

She fought and stood in front of the Russian and British military strikes against Iran. we can't remember second "Sardar As-ad" (Sardar = General / Commander).

Second Sardar as-ad: Ali Qoli Khan, Sardar As-Ad:

the 3rd son of Jaafar gholi Khan, was ilkhan (bakhatiari's tribe boss in Iran) , an Iranian revolutionary, a Thane of Bakhtiari Haft Lang tribe, and one of the primary figures of the Persian Constitutional Revolution.
