Swiss German tongue twisters[edit | edit source]

So, there are not many people out there speaking Swiss German and there are also a lot of differencies in the Swiss dialects.

As there are no fixed rules, how to write Swiss German, I'm just writing in the most common way from the place I come from in eastern Switzerland.

Just remember, that probably each Swiss you ask will tell you something else, how these sentences should be wrote.

Z'Basel uff der Rhybrugg stöhnd drei dööri, hohli, langi, leeri Röhrli und dor die drei dööre, hohle, lange, leere Röhrli lehred d' Lüüt rächt rede.	In Basel auf der Rheinbrücke stehen drei dürre, hohle, lange, leere Röhrchen und durch diese drei dürren, hohlen, langen, leeren Röhrchen lernen die Leute, richtig zu sprechen.
