Swati Grammar - Conditional Mood

In today's lesson, we will be discussing the conditional mood in Swati. The conditional mood is used to express a hypothetical situation or an event that could happen in the future. It is also used to express wishes and desires.

The conditional mood in Swati is formed by adding the suffix -a to the verb stem. This suffix changes the verb into a conditional form. For example, the verb "to go" is "huma" in the present tense, and "humela" in the conditional mood.

The conditional mood can also be used to express wishes and desires. For example, "I wish I could go" would be "Ngiyakuthanda ukuthi ngihumele".
