Cultural Facts[edit | edit source]

Tamazight, also known as Berber, is one of the indigenous languages of North Africa. It is spoken by over 25 million people worldwide, mostly in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. In Morocco, Tamazight is recognized as a national language along with Arabic. Tamazight has its own script, called Tifinagh, which dates back to the 3rd century BCE.
