Cultural Information[edit | edit source]

In Uzbekistan, the official weekend days are Saturday and Sunday, but Friday is considered a holy day, so most of the people take a day off on Fridays. On Fridays, you can hear the prayer calls from the mosque at noon. It is a tradition to perform the Friday prayer during this time. Uzbekistan is a religious and conservative country, where Friday is a day of worship and contemplation.
