يعني ya^ni is one of the most frequently used words in Arabic, most time it is used just as filler without any meaning. It literally means "it means", used also to mean "almost" depending on the context.)

- The white body-length Arab garb that males wear is called دشداشة dishdaasha (pl. دشادش dishaadish).

The usually white or red-checkered scarf-like item Gulf Arabs wear on their heads is called غترة ghutra or شماغ shimaagh , while the black circular piece is called عقال ^agaal.
Women wear a black عباءة ^abaa covering the whole body. The scarf/headwear is called شيلة shayla. The veil which hides the whole face except for the eyes is called نقاب niqaab, while the mask-like piece of fabric some women in the Gulf wear on their faces (noses) is called برقع birga^.
