China Buriat Vocabulary - Feelings and Emotions

Hi China Buriat learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn about feelings and emotions, and how they are expressed in China Buriat. Understanding these words and phrases will enable you to better express yourself in conversations and understand the emotions of those around you. Remember, practice makes perfect so don't be afraid to use these words in your everyday life!

Feeling Emotions - Хээриин тохиргоо[edit | edit source]

Let's start with the basics.

To help you remember these words, here's a dialogue:

  • Person 1: Мэдэхээр сонин (I'm happy)
  • Person 2: Сайн байна уу? (Are you good?)
  • Person 1: Өө, би мэдэхээр сонин. (Yes, I'm happy.)

Complex emotions - Нарийн хэлхээ[edit | edit source]

Now that we have learned the basics, let's move on to some more complex emotions.

  • Person 1: Би үнэнч байна. (I am trustworthy.)
  • Person 2: За ёстой юу? (What are you doing?)
  • Person 1: Цэнхэр тэнгэр замд буйгаар л бялдан хадгалж байгаа юм. (I am enjoying the blue sky while taking a walk.)
  • Person 2: Бидний гэсэн гэрээрх алагөө мөн таньд таалагдана. (I also love the scenery around our neighborhood.)

Idiomatic expressions - Дохиоллоо[edit | edit source]

In any language, there are always idiomatic expressions that don't translate directly into English. Here are some idiomatic expressions that are commonly used in China Buriat:

Сэнтэн онгоц л оноох senten ongotso onookh As shy as a deer
Хашхирч khashkhirch Afraid
Гадин арчих gadin archikh To be homesick
Хар сень khar sin To be completely exhausted
Цэглен морь tseglenn mor To be pleasantly surprised

Here's a dialogue for idiomatic expressions:

  • Person 1: Би гадин арчихдаа ирлээ. (I am homesick.)
  • Person 2: Манай гэр сүнжээсээ хатдан яваад өгөөч. (Let's go to our home town then.)
  • Person 1: Түүний талаар цаг хугацаа бүр намжилт тоглож чаддаг. (I can't stop myself from reminiscing about it all the time.)
