Interesting Facts[edit | edit source]
- The Khmer language is the official language of Cambodia but is also spoken in Thailand and Vietnam. - Students in Cambodia traditionally chant the numbers from one to ten in their Central Khmer language class at the beginning of each school day. - In Central Khmer, the word for "five" is "ααααΆα" (pronounced "pram") which sounds similar to the word for "hand" in Thai. This similarity comes from the shared roots of the two languages.
