Here are a few things to keep in mind while learning the names of the days:

- In Bambara, days of the week are not capitalized unless it is the first word of a sentence. - Bambara days of the week doesn't start with a particular letter like in English.

To use the days of the week in Bambara, follow this pattern:

"Kari (or any day of the week) ka juma be ma.": "On Monday (or any day of the week), we meet."

Here are a few more examples:

  • Person 1: Kari ka juma be ma. (On Monday we meet.)
  • Person 2: Ntɛnɛ n'ka bɛrɛ banga. (On Tuesday, I have a big test.)
  • Person 1: Sogɔma ka tun be kele faru. (On Wednesday, I eat my favorite food.)
  • Person 2: Dabani ka ba. (Thursday is far.)
  • Person 1: Juma ni sabati kuma. (Friday and Saturday are the same.)
  • Person 2: Minggu kɛnɛ, na diya fɛ. (On Sunday, we go to church.)

- In Bambara tradition, each day of the week is associated with a color. For example, Monday is associated with red, and Tuesday is associated with green. Bambara people wear clothes with the color associated with the day they were born on.

- In Bambara, there is a numbering system for days of the week. This numbering system is useful in business and other formal scenarios. Monday is considered the first day of the week and is numbered as "1". So, Saturday is considered the sixth day of the week and is numbered as "6".
