Cultural Tips[edit | edit source]
In Slovenian culture, it is not uncommon to greet people you are close to with a kiss on the cheek. The number of kisses varies depending on the region and personal preference, but two kisses are the most common. Men usually shake hands when greeting each other or also hug if they are close friends or family.
Also, Slovenians may not express their emotions as openly as people from some other cultures. This does not mean they feel any less strongly, but rather that they prefer to keep some things private. So, if you notice that someone seems a bit reserved, don't take it as a sign of unfriendliness - they might just be respecting boundaries.
