I just began learning German and ASL. German interests me because I want to connect with my roots and maybe join (or start) a German book club. Also, Oktoberfest! I want to eventually become an ASL interpreter, mostly because the language and culture is fascinating, but also because I come across Deaf Americans all the time, but I find it harder to communicate with them than with many people from other countries. I have two coworkers whose first language is French and French music is just beautiful. It would be really awesome to be able to talk to them in their native tongue and finally understand what some of the music I listen to means (without looking up a translation). I think I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities.
