![]() | exRangerJanuary 2019 Also correct: "I've lived here five years." (the inclusion of the proposition "for" is implicit, and thus it is superfluous) And a reminder: "5" in both sentences should be spelled out, i.e., "five". |
![]() | shawn_bootOctober 2019 Definitely interchangeable. The difference is the tense of the verb ‘to live’ 1) present tense 2) past tense I have been living here for five years (and will continue to do so) OR I have lived here for 5 years (and will continue to do so) |
![]() | tariq_deenMay 2018 I've been living here for 5 years |
![]() | bayarsaikhMay 2018 Which is correct? I have been living here for ten years, nevertheless I dont know about me. Altough |
![]() | elizabethwilliams_73 тыдні таму Both of these sentences are correct, but they say things a bit differently. The first one, "I've been living here for 5 years," tells us that the action of living here started in the past and is still going on now. The second one, "I've lived here for 5 years," just tells us how long the person has been living in that place, without saying if they still do or not. They're both used a lot, it just depends on how you want to say it! Learning a new language, or a Higher Language, can be a bit like this—different ways to say the same thing, just depending on how you feel about it!
