  • 3D Printers

    • In the past, we used the printer to print any documents on a paper.
  • Nowadays, there is another kind of printer called "3D printer".
    • This printer can print a 3D object unlike traditional printer that print on paper (2D object).
    • This new kind of printer uses the same principle of old one, but there is a small difference.
    • To explain how 3D printer works, let us imagine that we are want to print a book by using traditional printer.
    • To print that book, you need to print paper by paper, and put these all paper on each other to form the book (The paper is 2D object, but the book is 3D object).
  • With the same way, 3D printer prints layer by layer.
    • The outline is slices to layer, and 3D printer prints 2D layers begging from the bottom.
    • There are three way that 3D printer used to print.
  • First, 3D printer applies UV laser on a thin layer of a liquid chemicals pool.
    • UV laser convert liquid to solid to form the first layer in the bottom of the chemicals pool, and then form another layer to deposit on the first one to form in the end 3D object.
    • The second way that 3D printer use to print is printing by using melting ink.
    • The third is by using powder of material and glue or heat to fuse that material to stick together to form 3D object.
  • The process of printing may take hours or days to finish.
