Dear Editor, I am writing with a regard to your plebiscite, whose aim is to select the most valuable films.

I would like to nominate "Life is beautiful" - Italian comedy-drama film directed by and starring Roberto Benigni.

The plot of the film takes place in an Italian town, where Guido meets and falls in love with a girl named Dora.

However, the common life suddenly ends, when Guido and his son are taken to a concentration camp because of their Jewish origin.

Dora also enters the train on her own free will.

Good music and beautiful pictures together with excellent acting play complement as a whole, creating an extraordinary film.

The director undertook a very difficult attampt to recreate the history of the Holocaust in comedy form and, in my opinion, he was equal to the task.

The protagonist is constanlty in a good mood, and smile does not leave his face.

Probably for many people the issue of a very negligent approach to the matter - one of the most tragic chapter of the world's history remains controversial.

For me, however, this film work is a proof that even in the most terrible situation man can enjoy, laugh and believe that everythink will be right, that he has got a whole lifetime ahead of him.

At the same time I also look forward to learning about other readers' nominations.
