Here is an example dialogue using some of the Arabic family vocabulary words:
* Ali: السلام عليكم! كيف حالك؟ (Assalamu alaikum! Kayf halik?) Translation: Hello! How are you?
* Ahmed: وعليكم السلام، بخير، شكراً. أنا جد سعيد اليوم. (Wa alaikum assalam, bikhair, shukran. Ana jedd saeed alyoum.) Translation: And peace be upon you, I'm good, thanks. I'm very happy today.
* Ali: لماذا؟ (Limaatha?) Translation: Why?
* Ahmed: لأن حفيدتي الصغيرة وصلت إلى المنزل للتو! (Lan hafeedatee asghara wasalat ila almanzil lilto!) Translation: Because my little granddaughter just arrived home!
* Ali: أحفاد جميلة جداً! ما هو اسمها؟ (Aḥfaad jameelah jiddan! Ma huwa ismaha?) Translation: Grandchildren are very beautiful! What's her name?
* Ahmed: اسمها نورة. (Ismuha Noora.) Translation: Her name is Noora.
* Ali: جميل جداً. وكم هي عمرها؟ (Jameel jiddan. Wa kam hiya omruha?) Translation: Very nice. And how old is she?

* Ali: أريد أيضاً أن ألتقي بعائلتك الكبيرة. كم من الأجداد لديك؟ (Aureedu aydan an altaqya biea'ilatuk alkabeera. Kam min alajdad ladayk?) Translation: I also want to meet your big family. How many grandparents do you have?
* Ahmed: لدي جد وجدة ولكنهما يعيشان بعيداً. لكن عندي أشقاء وأخوات وأولادهم ونلتقي دائماً مع بعضنا البعض. (Ladayya jedd wajeddah walakin huma yaeshan baeedan. Lakin eandee ashka'a' waakhawat waawlaadahum wanaltaqy da'iman mae baeadna albaead.) Translation: I have a grandfather and a grandmother, but they live far away. However, I have brothers, sisters, and their children and we always meet with each other.
