HOW TO USE
”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”
In spoken Arabic language you should take into account two things:-
1- The gender: whether it’s male or female
2- Singular ( only one), Dual ( only two), or plural ( more than two).
In spoken English, there are only singular and plural
So, ”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”
all of the above have the same meaning which is mean ”THAT” OR "THIS", but we differentiate among them according to the previous two points I mentioned, as follows:-
ذٰلِكَ :- it refers to a male + singular
ذٰلِكِ:- refers to a female + singular
ذٰلِكُمْ:- refers to males + plural
ذٰلِكُنَّ:- refers to females + plural
ذٰلِكُمَا:- refers to( 2 males) or (2 females) or (1 male and 1 female) + dual
