HOW TO USE THE PRONOUNS IN STANDARD ARABIC[edit | edit source]
”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”
In spoken Arabic language, you should take into account two things:
- The gender: whether it’s male or female,
- Singular ( only one), Dual ( only two), or plural ( more than two).
In spoken English, there are only singular and plural.
So, ”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”
all of the above have the same meaning which is mean ”THAT” OR "THIS", but we differentiate among them according to the previous two points I mentioned, as follows:
