Declension patterns for Greek nouns

English[edit | edit source]

In Greek there are several groups of nouns and each one of them follows its own conjugating rules. Greek names are divided according to their gender

but also based on the number of syllables. That is to say in parisyllabic and imparisyllabic.

Parisyllabic nouns have the same number of syllables in all cases of their declension in the singular, also in the plural.

Imparisyllabic words do not have the same number of syllables in all cases of the singular, also of the plural.
