Japanese calligraphy is an ancestral art.
It is considered as a way to reach the Buddha, because it requires a lot of calm and concentration.
The original name is 書道 / しょどう (shodou).
To make calligraphy you need the following tools:
筆 / ふで(Fude) | Pencil |
筆沖 / ふでおき(Fudeoki) | Pencil support |
墨 / すみ (Sumi) | Ink |
紙 / かみ (Kami) | Paper |
硯 / すずり (Suzuri) | Inkpot |
下敷き / したじき (Shitajiki) | Blotter |
文鎮 / ぶんちん(Bunchin) | Paperweight |
Work in progress...
I will add pictures and more informations later.
Notes :
- écriture cursive
- pression du pinceau
- kanji de l'année
