No news is the best news [No news, good news]
شتر ديدى , نديدى
You see nothing, You hear nothing [You see the camel, you don’t see the camel]
عجله كار شيطان است
Haste is from the Devil [Haste is Satan's work]
کاچى به از هيچى
Something is better than nothing
گذشتها گذشته
Let bygones be bygones
مستى و راستى
There is truth in wine
نوکه اومدبه بازار كهنه شد دل آزار
Out with the old,in with the new
هر فرازى را نشيبى است
High places have their precipices
گر صبر کنی٬ ز قوره حلوا سازی
gar sabr koni, ze γure halvā sāzi
With time and art the leaf of a mulberry-tree becomes satin. [If you exercise patience, you may make a sweet-meat out of the sour grape.]
مار گزیده از ریسمان سیاه و سفید می‌ترسد
mār gazide az rismān-e siyah va sefid mitarsad
Once bitten, twice shy. [He who has been bitten by a snake, is (even) scared of a black-and-white rope.]
هیچ ارزانی بی علّت نیست
hic arzāni bi e’lat nist
Nothing is cheap for no reason.
دارندگی و برازندگی
Money talks.
حرف را باد می برد کتک را خر می خورد
Sticks and stones may break my bone,but words will never hurt me.
از هول حلیم افتاده توی دیگ --> از شدت شادی متوجه خطر نشدن
He rushed his fences.
از هر دست بدهی از همان دست می گیری --> همیشه نتیجه اعمالت نصیب خودت می شود.
One good turn deserves another.
از نخورده بگیر بده به خورده.
The more you have, the more you want.
گربه دستش به گوشت نمی رسه می گوید بو می دهد.
It's sour grapes.
گر صبر کنی زغوره حلوا سازی.
Patience is virtue.
سنگ بزرگ برداشتن نشانه علامت زدن نیست.
Great barkers are not the biters.
شاهنامه آخرش خوشه! --> کنایه از اینکه آخر ماجرا اتفاق افتاده عجیب و شنیدنی است.
He who laughs last laughs the longest.
گاو سفید پیشانی خانواده است.
He is the black sheep of the family.
یک بار مقروض همیشه مقروض است.
Once a borrower always a borrower.
بادنجان بد آفت ندارد
A bad thing never dies
نمی تواند برقصد می گوید زمین کج است
A bad workman quarrels withblameshis tool
سیلی نقد به از حلوای نسیه
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
زخم زبان از زخم شمشیر بدتر است
A blow with a word strikes deeper than a blow with a sword
مار گزیده از ریسمان سیاه و سفید می ترسد
A burnt child dreads the fire
دو صد گفته چون نیم کردار نیست
Action speaks louder than words
دوست همه کس دوست هیچ کس نیست
A friend to every body is a friend to no
رنگ رخسار خبر می دهد از سر ضمیر
A happy heart makes a blooming visage
حساب به دینار بخشش به خروار
A hard gathering, a wide scattering
دیگ شراکت جوش نمی آید
A join pot does not boil
کلاغه برایم خبر آورد
A little bird told me so
هر گردی گردو نیست
All are not thieves that dogs hard at
