This is sommes differences between adverbs : 1°) "près de" (near) -2°) "très près" (very close) and 3°)" trop près"(to close)
In today's lesson, we will learn the differences between the 3 following adverbs :  


) "près de" (Near) : mark proximity in space and in time
#"près de" (near)
#"très près de" (very close to)
#trop près de"(too close to)


Example :This is a circular object NEAR  the car.
Nb : instead of "près de", we can also use "proche de".


2°) "très près" (very close ) :  expressing a intensity acceptable

Example : The wardrobe is very close to the wall - It's very close to downtown.
Example :
*Cet objet est près de la voiture.

Example : The wardrobe is too closer to the wall - Its too close to the field

In today's lesson, we will learn the differences between the 3 following adverbs :

  1. "près de" (near)
  2. "très près de" (very close to)
  3. trop près de"(too close to)

Nb : instead of "près de", we can also use "proche de".

"près de" (Near)

It expresses a proximity in space and in time

Example :

  • Cet objet est près de la voiture.

This object is near the car.

"très près" (very close)

It expresses an acceptable intensity.

Example :

  • L'armoire est très près du mur - Mon appartement est très proche du centre-ville.

The wardrobe is very close to the wall - My apartment is very close to downtown.

"trop près" (too close)

It involves a excess

Example :

  • L'armoire est trop près du mur - la route est trop près du champ.
