#REDIRECT [[Language/English/Vocabulary/Can-a-blind-person-see?]]To answer the question "Can a blind person see?", we must define what blindness is from different standpoints. Blindness by a dictionary definition is a person unable to see. In the medical field, this definition also includes people who cannot even detect light from their eyes. Some people might hear the term "legally blind" which refers to a person who possibly can see to some extent but does have a degree of blindness that puts restrictions on their driver's license/ qualifies for financial aid from the government for this disability. By definition, a blind person cannot see but some people have degrees of blindness. For example, colorblind people who only see certain shades or see things in black and white. Another example would include people who can see but have blurry/ impaired vision which means their eyesight is not 20/20.
