  • The Dagaari Dioula language is spoken in: Burkina Faso

Dagaare is member of the Gur branch of Niger-Congo languages spoken in Ghana and Burkina Faso by about 1 million people.

Dagaare is separated in 3 different languages:

  1. Southern Dagaare
  2. Northern Dagara
  3. Dagaari Dioula spoken mainly in Burkina Faso by about 21,000 people in Diébougou, To, Boromo, Soukoulaye, Silly, Pa, Dano, Leo, Gao, Dissin, Wessa, Fara and French Hamele. Dagaari Dioula has been significantly influenced by the unrelated Dioula language. Dagaari Dioula is also known as Dagaari Jula, Dagari Dyoula, Jari, Wala and Yari.
