Το άρθρο The article L’article
Όταν αναφερόμαστε στο άρθρο εννοούμε

το οριστικό άρθρο ὁ, ἡ, τό,

που είναι κλιτή μονοσύλλαβη λέξη και τίθεται

μπροστά από ονόματα ή άλλα μέρη του λόγου

που χρησιμοποιούνται ως ονόματα. 

Ancient Greek has three definite article :

ὁ, ἡ, τό. The article is declined,

it has singular and plural, all three genders

and all the cases (except the vocative).

The definite agree in gender, number

and case with the noun they refer to.

Le Grec Ancien a trois articles définis:

ὁ, ἡ, τό. L'article se décline,

il a le nombre singulier et  pluriel,

trois sexes en tous les cas

(sauf le vocatif).

L'accord définit sur le sexe,

le nombre et le cas avec

le nom auquel ils se réfèrent.

π.χ : ὁ ἄνθρωπος, ἡ κώμη, τό ἄστυ

Το άρθρο δεν έχει κλητική πτώση.

Μπροστά από την κλητική των

ονομάτων χρησιμοποιείται το

κλητικό επιφώνημα ὦ * : 

π.χ ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι!

*Η κλίση των ελληνικών ονομάτων αρχίζει

με τη σειρά που δίνεται τόσο στην Αρχαία

όσο και στην Νεοελληνική δηλαδή:

Ονομαστική (nomin.), Γενική (genit.),

Δοτική (dat.), Αιτιατική (accus.),

Κλητική (vocat.)

Eg. : ὁ ἄνθρωπος (man),

ἡ κώμη (the hair),

τό ἄστυ (the city)

The article does not have the vocative declension.

We use the interjection * in vocative:

eg. :… ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι!

(O men of Athens!)

(Plato: Apology of Socrates) 

* The Greek declination is presented

in ancient greek also in modern having

the following order:

nominative, genitive, dative,

accusative, vocative

Par ex. : ὁ ἄνθρωπος (l’homme),

ἡ κώμη(la chevelure),

τό ἄστυ (la ville)

L'article n'a pas la déclinaison vocatif.

On utilise en vocatif  l’interjection ὦ * : 

par ex. : … ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι!

(Ô hommes d'Athènes!)

* La déclinaison grecque est présentée

en grec ancien aussi en moderne ayant

l'ordre suivant:

nominatif, génitif, datif,

accusatif, vocatif
