In this lesson, we will learn how to use the verb "have" in Slovak. We will look at the conjugation of the verb, as well as some examples of how it is used in sentences.
Conjugation
The verb "have" in Slovak is mať. It is an irregular verb, and its conjugation is as follows:

Examples

- Person 1: Majú deti knihy? (Mah-yoo deh-tee knee-hee?) (Do the children have books?)
- Person 2: Áno, majú. (Ah-noh, mah-yoo.) (Yes, they do.)
- Person 1: Máš sestru? (Mahsh seh-struh?) (Do you have a sister?)
- Person 2: Nie, nemám. (Nee-eh, neh-mahm.) (No, I don't.)
- Person 1: Majú peniaze? (Mah-yoo peh-nyah-zeh?) (Do they have money?)
- Person 2: Nie, nemajú. (Nee-eh, neh-mah-yoo.) (No, they don't.)
