Morisyen Grammar - Give your Opinion

Hi Morisyen learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn how to give your opinion in Morisyen. We will look at the different ways to express your opinion and how to use them in a sentence.

Expressing Your Opinion

In Morisyen, there are several ways to express your opinion. Here are some of the most common expressions:

  • Mwèn - I think
  • Mwèn mwen - I believe
  • Mwèn mwen kwè - I believe that
  • Mwèn mwen panse - I think that
  • Mwèn mwen santi - I feel that

These expressions can be used to express your opinion about something or someone. For example:

Mwèn mwen kwè li se yon bon moun. (I believe he is a good person.) Mwèn mwen panse li pa dwe fè sa. (I think he shouldn't do that.) Mwèn mwen santi li pa konnen sa li ap fè. (I feel he doesn't know what he's doing.)

Agreeing and Disagreeing

When you agree with someone's opinion, you can use the following expressions:

  • Wi - Yes
  • Wi, mwèn mwen kwè sa - Yes, I believe that
  • Wi, mwèn mwen panse sa - Yes, I think that
  • Wi, mwèn mwen santi sa - Yes, I feel that

When you disagree with someone's opinion, you can use the following expressions:

  • Non - No
  • Non, mwèn mwen pa kwè sa - No, I don't believe that
  • Non, mwèn mwen pa panse sa - No, I don't think that
  • Non, mwèn mwen pa santi sa - No, I don't feel that

For example:

Person 1: Li pa bon. (He is not good.) Person 2: Wi, mwèn mwen kwè sa. (Yes, I believe that.) Person 1: Li se yon bon moun. (He is a good person.) Person 2: Non, mwèn mwen pa kwè sa. (No, I don't believe that.)
