Icelandic Vocabulary - Drinks

Hi Icelandic learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn the most important Icelandic words related to drinks. Knowing these words will help you to order drinks in a restaurant or bar, and understand what people are talking about when they mention drinks. Let's get started!

Drinks

Here is a list of the most common drinks in Iceland:

Icelandic Pronunciation English Translation
Ávöxtasaftur /ˈaːvœxtasaftʏr/ Fruit juice
Kaffi /ˈkafːi/ Coffee
Te /teː/ Tea
Mjólk /mjoulk/ Milk
Vatn /vatn/ Water
Appelsínusaftur /apɛlsiːnusaftʏr/ Orange juice

Usage

Now that you know the words for different drinks, let's look at how to use them in a sentence.
