QUIZ FEATURE

"I think only learning wiki lessons is not enough, there should be practice. I am conceiving a new function of “Quiz”, where users can put up test questions or answer them, including Single choice, Multiple choice, True or false, Cloze, Correction, Reading comprehension, Multilingual connection (connect words, phrases, etc. with the same meaning in several languages, may be imported from those “in many languages”), with different difficulties and different parts (prefix & suffix, gender, animal vocabulary, etc.). There can be analysis and comment for each question. Some questions can be marked as valuable to be translated, and become new questions of other languages. Finally, combinations of questions can be saved as “test papers”, and users can take the tests. I think there can be more ideas of this “Quiz”.

"I just think that quiz can be realized, and it will be easy. I don't know about how to set up specifications. I think references can be all kinds of language exam, such as TOFEL, JLPT, HSK, the rules of setting a test paper can be found, and users who are creating a quiz should be informed with them. I think quizzes should be centered by "key points", because teachers set questions with them. Then users can choose one of them and create a quiz about it. Repeated and those have high similarity with another would be unable to submit. There would be quizzes about not only languages, but also culture and history. I think it is important to support multilingual practice, in "connection" and maybe also some other. Users can choose how many and which languages they want to practice. It would be initiative, and it also suits "Polyglot Club" the site's name."

True or false

• Judge if a statement is correct.

Single choice

• Choose the correct answer from several options.

Multiple choice

• Choose the correct answers from several options.

Cloze

• Fill in the blanks in a passage with listed words or phrases.
• Fill in the blanks in a passage with correct tense of given verbs.

Correction & optimization

• Change wrong and inappropriate words by clicking on them, and choose from listed words. The list should appear after those words are all selected.

Reading comprehension (questions can be added by other users)

• Single choice about an article.
• Find the word or phrase of the same meaning with a given word or phrase in a paragraph of an article, or where an idea appear in a paragragh of an article.

Multilingual quizzes (cooperative when constructing)

Connection

• Connect words or phrases with the same meaning in several languages.

Identification

• Identify a word with the same meaning in different sentences, sentences are in different languages.
• Identify a passage which has different meaning with other passages, passages are in different languages. In this part, there must be a passage as the "standard" in several languages, and one or more "variants" in one or more of those languages.

Key points

Each quiz corresponds to one or more "key points", each key point corresponds to many quizzes. Key points items are sentences such as "'catch-22' comes from Joseph Heller's novel Catch-22", "'who' can't be used to refer to a thing", each item has tags, such as "conjugation", "gender", "meaning", "Spanish", "French".

Translation

Some quizzes can be marked as "translation suggested", and become new quizzes in other languages.

Test papers

Combine some good quizzes and save it as a "test paper". Many test papers can be saved as a "collection". Test papers and the collections can be shared. Test papers are printable.
