As a Swahili language teacher of 20 years, I am excited to bring you a lesson on geography and landscapes. East Africa is a diverse region with a variety of natural wonders, and Swahili has many words that describe these unique features. In this lesson, we'll explore common Swahili place names and vocabulary related to mountains, rivers, and deserts.

Mountains

Mountains are prominent features of East Africa, and Swahili has words for many of them. Here are a few:
