Interesting Facts
Did you know that Georgian is the only language in Europe that has its own alphabet? That's right! The Georgian alphabet has 33 letters and was created in the 3rd century AD. It was also one of the first languages to be written and has the longest literary tradition of all the South Caucasian languages. In addition, Georgian script is one of the three writing systems of the Bible โ the others being Hebrew and Greek.
Another interesting fact is that the educational system in Georgia is free and compulsory for all children ages 6-14. Higher education is also free to Georgian citizens on a competitive basis.
