The future tense is used to talk about events that will happen in the future. In Cebuano, the future tense is formed by adding the suffix -on to the verb stem. For example, the verb "to go" is "sakay" in Cebuano. To form the future tense, you would add the suffix -on, so the future tense of "to go" is "sakayon".

The future tense can also be used to express intention. For example, if you want to say "I intend to go to the store", you would say "Mag-uya ko sa tindahan".  
To specify the time when the action will happen, you can add time expressions before or after the sentence. Here are some time expressions in Cebuano:


Finally, the future tense can also be used to express a wish or desire. For example, if you want to say "I wish I could go to the store", you would say "Gusto ko mag-uya sa tindahan".

Formation

To form the Future Tense in Cebuano, you need to add the word "mag" before the verb. For example:
