To form the future tense, we add different endings to the infinitive form of the verb. For example, the infinitive form of the verb "to speak" is "խոսել" (khosel). To form the future tense, we add the following endings:

The future tense can be used to talk about actions that will take place in the future. For example:
To form the future tense of "to speak" for each pronoun, we add the appropriate ending:

* Ես (yes) - խոսելեմ (khoselyem) - I will speak
* Դու (du) - խոսես (khosees) - You will speak
* Ունեմ (unem) - խոսի (khosi) - He/she/it will speak
* Մենք (menk') - խոսենք (khosenk') - We will speak
* Դուք (duk') - խոսեք (khosek') - You (plural) will speak
* Նրանք (nrank') - խոսեն (khosen) - They will speak

Note that for some verbs, changes may be made to the stem of the verb before adding the appropriate ending.

== Usage ==
The future tense is used to describe actions that will happen in the future. For example:

* Մենք առողջարան պիտի շարադրենք: (Menk' arroghjaran piti sharadrenk') - We will attend the school tomorrow.
* Դու վաճառես այս գույնի պատվիրած ծաղիկ: (Du vacharese ays guyni patvirats tsaghik') - You will order these colored flowers.

We can also use adverbs of time to indicate when the action will take place in the future, such as:

* Ապասին կարողանանք մեկնարկել: (Apasin karoghnananq menk'narkel) - We can discuss it later.
* Մասնակցեք, ապասին բաց կլինի բանալիները: (Masnakts'ek', apasin bats' klini banalinery) - Participate, the doors will be open later.

== Examples ==

Armenian Grammar - Future Tense

Hi Armenian learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn about the future tense in Armenian. The future tense is used to describe actions that will happen in the future.

Formation

To form the future tense, we add different endings to the infinitive form of the verb. For example, the infinitive form of the verb "to speak" is "խոսել" (khosel). To form the future tense, we add the following endings:

Pronoun Ending
Ես (yes) -եմ (-yem) Դու (du) -ես (-yes) Ունեմ (unem) -ի (-i) Մենք (menk') -ենք (-yenk') Դուք (duk') -եք (-yek') Նրանք (nrank') -են (-yen)

To form the future tense of "to speak" for each pronoun, we add the appropriate ending:

  • Ես (yes) - խոսելեմ (khoselyem) - I will speak
  • Դու (du) - խոսես (khosees) - You will speak
  • Ունեմ (unem) - խոսի (khosi) - He/she/it will speak
  • Մենք (menk') - խոսենք (khosenk') - We will speak
  • Դուք (duk') - խոսեք (khosek') - You (plural) will speak
  • Նրանք (nrank') - խոսեն (khosen) - They will speak

Note that for some verbs, changes may be made to the stem of the verb before adding the appropriate ending.

Usage

The future tense is used to describe actions that will happen in the future. For example:

  • Մենք առողջարան պիտի շարադրենք: (Menk' arroghjaran piti sharadrenk') - We will attend the school tomorrow.
  • Դու վաճառես այս գույնի պատվիրած ծաղիկ: (Du vacharese ays guyni patvirats tsaghik') - You will order these colored flowers.

We can also use adverbs of time to indicate when the action will take place in the future, such as:

  • Ապասին կարողանանք մեկնարկել: (Apasin karoghnananq menk'narkel) - We can discuss it later.
  • Մասնակցեք, ապասին բաց կլինի բանալիները: (Masnakts'ek', apasin bats' klini banalinery) - Participate, the doors will be open later.

Examples

Let's look at some examples of the future tense in action:

Armenian Pronunciation English
