Tajik Grammar - Future Tense

In this lesson, we will learn about the future tense in Tajik. We will look at how to form the future tense, as well as some examples of its use.

The future tense is used to talk about actions that will happen in the future. In Tajik, the future tense is formed by adding the suffix -манда to the verb stem. For example, the verb хонед (to go) becomes хонедманда (will go).

Examples

Ман ба духтари мардум мекунам	Maan ba duhtari mardum mekunam	I will meet my friends tomorrow
Шумо ба духтари хонедманда	Shumo ba duhtari xonedmando	You will go with your friends
Он ба духтари гузаредманда	On ba duhtari guzaredmando	He will play with his friends
Мо ба духтари боён доштанда	Mo ba duhtari boyon doštando	We will eat with our friends
Шумо ба духтари байни кунедманда	Shumo ba duhtari baini kunedmando	You will watch a movie with your friends

As you can see, the future tense is formed by adding the suffix -манда to the verb stem.
