Urdu Grammar - How to Ask Questions

In today's lesson, we will be discussing how to ask questions in Urdu. Asking questions is an important part of any language, and it is no different in Urdu. We will look at the different types of questions, as well as the grammar rules that apply when asking questions.

Types of Questions

There are two main types of questions in Urdu: yes/no questions and wh-questions.

Yes/No Questions

Yes/no questions are questions that can be answered with a simple yes or no. These questions usually start with a verb, such as "do", "can", "will", etc. For example:

  • Do you understand?
  • Can you speak Urdu?

Wh-Questions

Grammar Rules

When asking questions in Urdu, there are some grammar rules that must be followed.

  • The question word comes at the beginning of the sentence.
  • The verb is conjugated according to the subject.

For example:

  • Aap kya karte hain? (What do you do?)
  • Woh kab aayega? (When will he come?)
  • Kaun hai aapka guru? (Who is your teacher?)
