- The blue color signifies the sky where the Yaqui mother, Maala Mecha, and Yaqui father, Achi Taa'ah, reside.
- The 4 stars represent the cardinal directions of east, west, north and south.
- The moon represents the Yaqui mother, Maala Mecha, the mother of all creation.
