2 types of conjunctions in Armenian

In Armenian there are two types of conjunctions: coordinating and subordinating.

Coordinating conjunctions tie together equal parts of a sentence, whereas subordinating conjunctions are used to connect a principle clause and a secondary clause.

Main coordinating conjunctions of the Armenian language

The chart below contains the main coordinating conjunctions of the Armenian language:

և, ու  and  Նա դուռը բացեց և մտավ սենյակ: He opened the door and entered the room. 
բայց  but  Մենք փորձեցինք բացել դուռը, բայց չկարողացանք: We tried to open the door but couldn’t. 
իսկ  and/while/but  Դասախոսը հարցեր է տալիս, իսկ ուսանողները պատասխանում են: The lecturer asks questions, while the students answer them. 
թե  օr (exclusive)  Գալի՞ս ես, թե՞ ոչ: Are you coming or not?
