  • Перед (pered) - before
  • О (o) - about, around

  • Протягом (protyahom) - during

Prepositions of manner describe how an action is performed. Here are some commonly used prepositions of manner in Ukrainian:

  • З (z) - with
  • Без (bez) - without
  • Як (yak) - like, as
  • На (na) - on

Let's see these prepositions in action:

- Вона говорить зі мною. (Vona hovoryt zi mnou.) - She speaks with me. - Я пішов без тебе. (Ya pishov bez tebe.) - I went without you. - Він спить як дитина. (Vin spyt yak dytyna.) - He sleeps like a baby. - Вона їде на велосипеді. (Vona yide na velosyped-i.) - She rides a bicycle.

Вона прийде __ годину. (Vona pryjde __ hodynu.) - She will come in an hour. 4. Я знаходжуся тут __ день. (Ya znakhodyusya tut __ den.) - I am here all day. 5. Він вирушить __ вечір. Exercise 3: Prepositions of Manner 1. Вчитель говорить __ учнями. (Vchy-tel hovoryt __ uchnyamy.) - The teacher speaks with the students. 2. Вона розмовляє англійською __ перекладачем. (Vona rozmovlyaye anhliyskoyu __ perek-ladachem.) - She speaks English with the translator. 3. Він плаває __ стилі брас. (Vin plavaye __ styli bras.) - He swims butterfly style. 4. Я ходжу __ роботу. (Ya khodzhu __ robotu.) - I go to work on foot. 5. Вона їде __ поїзді. (Vona yide __ poyizdi.) - She travels by train.
