Introduction[edit | edit source]

In this lesson, we will explore Ukrainian conjunctions, which are words used to connect phrases, clauses, or sentences. Conjunctions play a crucial role in forming coherent and meaningful sentences. By understanding and using conjunctions correctly, you will be able to express more complex thoughts and ideas in Ukrainian.

Conjunctions in Ukrainian[edit | edit source]

Conjunctions in Ukrainian serve the same purpose as in English, but they may have different forms and usage. They are used to connect words, phrases, clauses, or sentences to show relationships between them. Some common conjunctions in Ukrainian include 'і' (and), 'але' (but), 'або' (or), and 'тому що' (because). Let's take a closer look at each of these conjunctions and their usage.

'І' (And)[edit | edit source]

The conjunction 'і' is used to connect words, phrases, or clauses that are similar or related in meaning. It is the equivalent of the English conjunction 'and'. Here are a few examples:

Ukrainian Pronunciation English

Україна і Польща Ukraїna i Pól'shcha Ukraine and Poland

'Але' (But)[edit | edit source]

'Або' (Or)[edit | edit source]
