The Arabic language has subject pronouns for males and females as following:

  • I: pronounced as " Ana" it's equal for male and female. it's written as ุฃู†ุง


You[edit | edit source]

  • You (masc) = ุฃู†ุช = anta
  • You (fem) = ุฃู†ุช = anti
  • You (dual) = ุฃู†ุชู…ุง = antuma
  • You (plural, masc) = ุฃู†ุชู… = antum
  • You (plural, fem) = ุฃู†ุชู† = antunna

  • We: pronounced as "nahno" for both males and females. it's written as ู†ุญู†

  • He: pronounced as "Hoowa" it's written as ู‡ูˆ
  • She: pronounced as "Heya" it's written as ู‡ู‰

  • They (dual) = ู‡ู…ุง = humma
  • They (plural,masc) = ู‡ู… = hom
  • They (plural,fem) = ู‡ู† = hunna

In arabic they are frequently dropped except in the equational (verbless) sentences like:

  • I'm happy = ุฃู†ุง ุณุนูŠุฏ
  • I'm from ูŽAlgeria = ุฃู†ุง ู…ู† ุงู„ุฌุฒุงุฆุฑ
  • I am from the US = ุฃู†ุง ู…ู† ุฃู…ุฑูŠูƒุง (ana min amriika)
  • He is from Egypt = ู‡ู€ู€ูˆ ู…ู† ู…ู€ูุตุฑ
  • He is an engineer. = ู‡ูˆ ู…ู‡ู†ุฏุณ (howwa mohandis)
