Antonyms

An antonym is a word that means the opposite of another word. For instance, the antonym of 'hot' may be "cold".

Here are a few examples:

Greek	English
Μεγάλο – μικρό megàlo - mikrô	big - small
Ο ελέφαντας είναι μεγάλος.: o eléfantas îne megàlos	The elephant is big.
Το ποντίκι είναι μικρό: to pontîki îne mikrô	The mouse is small.
Σκοτεινός -  φωτεινός : skotinôs - fotinôs	dark and light
Η νύχτα είναι σκοτεινή: i nîchta îne skotinî	The night is dark.
Η μέρα είναι φωτεινή: i mèra îne fotinî	The day is clear.
μεγάλος και μικρός (σε ηλικία): megálos kai mikrós (se ilikía)	old and young
Ο παππούς μας είναι πολύ μεγάλος: o papoùs mas îne polî megàlos	Our grandfather is very old.
Πριν 70 χρόνια ήταν ακόμη νέος: prîn evdomînta chrônia îtan nèos	Before 70 he was still young
όμορφος και άσχημος : ômorfos ke àschimos	beautiful and ugly
Η πεταλούδα είναι όμορφη : I petaloúda eínai ómorfi	The butterfly is beautiful.
Η αράχνη είναι άσχημη : i aràchni îne àschimi	The spider is ugly.
χοντρός και αδύνατος : chontrôs ke adînatos	fat and skinny
ακριβό και φτηνό : akrivô ke ftinô	expensive and cheap
Το αυτοκίνητο είναι ακριβό : to aftokînito îne akrivô	The car is expensive.
Η εφημερίδα είναι φτηνή : i efimerîda îne ftinî	The newspaper is inexpensive.
