Use of the: Πώς, πως, πού, που, ή, η

The "ότι" is a special conjunction, while the accented "ό,τι" with the comma is a relative pronoun.[edit | edit source]

Εχ :

  • Πάρε ό,τι θέλεις       

Take whatever you want

  • Είπε ότι δεν ήθελε να φύγει     

He said that he didn't want to go

The accented "πού" is an interrogative adverb, while the unaccented "που" is a special conjunction.[edit | edit source]

Ex :

  • Πού έβαλες το βιβλίο; Το έβαλα πάνω στο τραπέζι.    

Where did you put the book? I put it on the table

  • Έχασα το βιβλίο που μου δάνεισες.       

I lost the book that you lend me

The separating conjunction "ή" to differentiate the feminine article "η"[edit | edit source]

  • Μπορείτε να διαλέξετε να φάτε μακαρόνια, σαλάτα ή μπριζόλα     

You can choose to eat pasta, salad, or steak    

The "Πως" is a special conjunction, while and "Πώς" is an adverb of manner[edit | edit source]

  • Πώς είσαι; Είμαι καλά.      

How are you? I am okay.

  • Πιστεύω πως δεν θα έχω πρόβλημα     

I believe i shall not have any problem
