Welcome to our lesson on Iranian-Persian pronunciation, focusing on the alphabet and pronunciation. The Persian alphabet, also known as the Perso-Arabic script, is a writing system used for the Persian language spoken in Iran (Western Persian) and Afghanistan (Dari Persian). The modern Persian script has been directly derived and developed from the Arabic script. It is mostly written from right-to-left, with some exceptions such as mathematical expressions, numeric dates, and numbers bearing units, which are embedded from left to right. The script is cursive, meaning most letters in a word connect to each other, and contemporary word processors automatically join adjacent letter forms.

After mastering the Iranian-Persian alphabet and pronunciation, you may also be interested in exploring other aspects of the language, such as Accents, Iranian-persian Vocabulary - Landscapes, and Iranian-persian Vocabulary - Months of the Year.
