Welcome to our lesson on Georgian Pronunciation, where we will explore the unique aspects of the Georgian alphabet and its pronunciation. The modern Georgian language consists of 33 sounds, including five vowels that are pronounced similarly to their English counterparts, and 28 consonants, some of which are exclusive to Georgian.

In the Georgian alphabet, each letter represents a specific sound, and the pronunciation remains consistent. Cursive letters have only minor differences from printed ones, and there are no capital letters. This simplicity in Georgian orthography sets it apart from English and many other languages.

Pronouncing words correctly in Georgian ensures that you will also write them correctly. Therefore, we will pay special attention to the pronunciation of sounds that are not found in English but are characteristic of Georgian. While the five vowels in Georgian are pronounced like their English equivalents, the consonants can be more challenging.

After mastering Georgian pronunciation, you may also be interested in exploring other aspects of the language and culture.
