When use "et" and when use "est"?

ET means and[edit | edit source]

ET is employed to join 2 sentences. Someone can also say "plus". It's additional.

  • Example : J'ai mangé des pommes ET des cerises = I've eaten some apples AND some cherries

EST means is[edit | edit source]

It is the verb "to be" conjugated at the third singular person.

  • Example : Elle EST belle = She IS beautiful

Now, impossible to do that mistake again :)
