Introducing Yourself in Catalan[edit | edit source]

Introducing yourself is an important part of any conversation. In this lesson, you will learn how to introduce yourself and others in Catalan, including phrases for sharing your name, age, and occupation.

Basic Introductions[edit | edit source]

Here are some basic phrases to introduce yourself:

  • Hola, em dic [Name]. - Hello, my name is [Name].
  • Bon dia, sóc [Name]. - Good morning, I am [Name].
  • Em presento, sóc [Name]. - Let me introduce myself, I am [Name].

To ask someone's name, you can use:

  • Com et dius? - What's your name?
  • Com es diu vostè? - What's your name? (formal)

And to respond, you can say:

  • Em dic [Name]. - My name is [Name].
  • Sóc [Name]. - I am [Name].

Here are some phrases to talk about your occupation:

Sóc professor. SOHK proh-fuhs-SOHR I am a professor.
